iPhone Push notifications for nagios

A long long time ago, when i bought my new iPhone 3GS, I wanted to replace my smses from nagios I’m receiving every time there’s something wrong with push notifications .. A quick search in the app store gives me this :

This app is just awesome! Although version 1 is awesome. The guy putted out a new version 2 where you need to pay xtra for mail  ($0,99),unlimited access($6,99),api ($0,99).. although, all of this in version one is included in the price of the app. (not sure about unlimited access though, It could be I’ve paid for that, ah well ..)

With version 1 U could buy 20.000 push notifications for $0,99 for all!

you’ve made the wrong move with version 2 pal! Luckily, I’ve got version 1 ;)

so back to nagios then. The good thing is, you get an special email address from these guy’s (like myname@4push.com) and every mail send to this email address will be instantly (between 1-2 sec) pushed to your iPhone device!

So nagios, bye bye expensive sms costs! Welcome to the world of push notifications! Just set your 4push.com email account in your contact name (an enable alerts for it off course ) and all your sweet sweet alerts will be pushed towards you. almost instantly!

Its a shame that v1 is removed form the app store and replaced by his v2 .. ah well, you pay more, but more functionality! that’s true.
